Cirque du Soleil clown Ron Campbell recently played Cecil B. DeGrille at Teatro Zinzanni. Other recent appearances include Don Quixote at Marin Shakespeare Company, Alfie in One Man, Two Guvnors, Peter and the Starcatcher, Comedy of Errors at California Shakespeare Theatre, Sherlock Holmes in The Hound of Baskervilles and R. Buckminster Fuller and a One Man adaptation of The Dybbuk. After working as a street performer in Europe, Campbell became a founding member of the Actor's Gang and Artistic Associate of The Los Angeles Theatre Center. An Associate Artist at the California Shakespeare Theatre, Ron received The Fox Fellowship for Distinguished Achievement in 2009.
Solo shows: The Thousandth Night, A Tale of Two Cities, The Bone Man of Benares, Shylock and Beckett’s Eh Joe. He has performed in such theatres as The Habima, The Mark Taper Forum, The American Conservatory Theatre, The Old Globe and the Old Red Lion in London. Awards include the London Fringe One Man Show of the Year and both the Los Angeles and Bay Area Critic’s Circle Awards for Lead and Solo Performances, The Helen Hayes Award, A Jeff Award Nomination.
